Welcome Letter

A message from your Professional School Counselor

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Ashlee Brown, and I am thrilled to continue my work this year as the Professional School Counselor at Rockledge Elementary School for a second year in a row. I am looking forward to working with you and your children to ensure a successful and productive school experience.

I have a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in school counseling, and I am passionate about supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional development. I believe that every student is unique and has the potential to achieve great things. My goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment where all students feel valued and understood.

As a school counselor, I am here to support students' emotional and social well-being, help students develop effective academic study and organizational skills, provide peer mediation and collaborate with teachers and parents to support each child's individual needs.

I will be offering various programs and activities throughout the year, including classroom lessons on topics such as friendship, small group sessions focusing on specific topics like social skills and one- on-one short-term individual counseling for students who may need additional temporary support. I am also able to provide referrals to outside counseling when needed.

I believe that open communication is key to a successful partnership. I am always here to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your child's school experience. Please feel free to reach out to me via email at ashlee.brown@pgcps.org or by calling the school's main office at 301-805--2720.

I am excited to get to know each of your children and to work together to make this school year a wonderful experience for everyone. Thank you for welcoming me into the Rockledge Roadrunner community for a second year. I am eager to embark on this journey with you all and to support your child's growth and happiness.

Kind Regards,

Ashlee Brown, M.Ed.
