Classroom Lessons

Our school based counselor provides monthly classroom lessons focused on guidance topics including character education, social skills, mental health, anti-bullying, personal safety, problem-solving, and college and career readiness.

Small Groups

During the school year, I offer rotating small groups designed to help students adjust to a new school, strengthen social skills, and practice healthy conflict resolution.

If your child is selected to join a group, you will receive a permission slip along with details about the group’s focus and activities.

Individual Support

Individual support takes place during the school day and is brief, solution-focused counseling*. Students may meet with me at any time during the year, as needs arise and as students are referred.

Refer a Student for Short-Term Counseling Support

*Professional school counselors are not intended to provide long-term counseling services. If a student requires ongoing support, families are encouraged to consult their child’s physician for a referral or explore available resources through state and county support services.

Peer Mediation

This year we are restarting a Peer Mediation program with selected 5th grade leaders. These students, chosen for their empathy, strong listening skills, and confidence, will help classmates and younger students work through conflicts in positive ways.

We are excited to see our student leaders develop important mediation skills while encouraging their peers to resolve conflicts respectfully and independently.

Other Notes

Please also take a moment to complete the Family Survey.

Students may self-refer by filling out the appointment request forms available outside my office. I look forward to partnering with the students and families of Rockledge to help every child build strong character, essential life skills, and positive relationships!
