Meet Our Acting Principal, Ms. Tiesha Howell, M.Ed

Great Day, Dodge Park Elementary School Families and Community Partners,

My name is Tiesha Howell, and I am truly honored to introduce myself as the Acting Principal of Dodge Park Elementary School. With great excitement and anticipation, I welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! I hope your summer was filled with rest, joy, and special moments with your loved ones.

It brings me great pride to share that I have spent nearly two decades serving the scholars of Prince George’s County Public Schools. I began my journey as a Kindergarten teacher, later teaching in various primary grades. My love for education led me to serve as an Instructional Lead Teacher, and most recently, as an Assistant Principal and Acting Principal. Each of these roles has deepened my commitment to ensuring that every scholar receives high-quality instruction in a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

I believe that schools are more than just places of academic learning— they are vibrant communities where collaboration, growth, and success flourish when we work together. I am dedicated to building strong relationships with our families and community partners so that we may continue to cultivate a space where everyone thrives.

Originally from Long Island, New York, I have called Maryland home for over 20 years. I am a proud graduate of THEE Bowie State University and a mom to two amazing school-aged daughters who keep me inspired and on my toes every day.

As a passionate advocate for children, I have led several meaningful and transformational initiatives that have enhanced both student achievement and school culture. I am eager to bring that same dedication and vision to Dodge Park Elementary School.

I am excited to get to know each of you and work side by side to support our scholars. Together, with a shared purpose and partnership, I am confident that we will continue “Culturing a Great Deal of Excellence.”
