Mr. Otis Burnett

Hello Bladensburg Elementary School Community,

I am honored to serve as Assistant Principal at Bladensburg Elementary School. My journey in education began in Jamaica, where I taught second- and third-grade. In 2014, I moved to the United States through Participate, formerly known as the Visiting International Faculty (VIF) teacher exchange program, and taught first grade in Durham and Charlotte, North Carolina. Since then, I have taught in several school districts, including District of Columbia Public Schools (2nd grade) and Montgomery County Public Schools (3rd grade).

In 2023, I proudly joined the Bladensburg Elementary family as a second-grade teacher and later served as our STEM Resource Teacher. I am excited to begin this new chapter as Assistant Principal, continuing my commitment to serving our students, staff, families, and the broader school community.

I look forward to building strong partnerships and working together to ensure the success of every child.
