Dr. Jamon E. Liburd, Assistant Principal
Dr. Jamon E. Liburd is entering his fourth year as Assistant Principal at Bladensburg Elementary School. A native of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, he has devoted over 20 years to education, serving in various capacities, including paraprofessional, substitute teacher, elementary teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to creating safe, supportive, and rigorous learning environments for all students.
Before joining Prince George’s County Public Schools, Dr. Liburd served as a Reading Specialist in Florida. Over the past decade with PGCPS, he has worked as a RELA instructor, STEM educator, and school leader. With a strong background in elementary education, school leadership, extended learning, and STEM, he is dedicated to equity, student growth, teacher development, and meaningful community partnerships.
Most recently, Dr. Liburd earned his doctorate from National University, where his dissertation focused on supporting English Learners with reading disabilities.
