A uniform is required to be worn by all students.  Violations to the dress code will result in school disciplinary action. The school will accommodate students’ religious expression when provided with  a written letter on church/mosque letterhead, from their religious leader.
School Identification Badges (ID’s)
- Must be CLEARLY VISIBLE at all times
 
- Must be worn around the neck or attached to your collar.
 
- Temporary IDs must be worn on the left chest. 
 
- Students must have their permanent ID to purchase tickets and participate in school activities.
 
- Temporary ID’s may be obtained in ISS in the morning between 8:00-8:25 AM.
 
Shirts and Tops
- Polo-style or Oxford Shirt
- White Only
 
- Long or short sleeved collared, polo-style shirt with TWO or THREE buttons at the neck and/or white Oxford shirt buttoned-up with no more than one button undone. 
 
 
- Undershirts
- Must be solid in color (NO WRITING or GRAPHICS)
 
 
- Other Shirts
- NEW: NO PULLOVERS or HOODIES
 
- Students can wear a jacket, sweater and/or sweat top as long as that jacket, sweater, and sweat top has a zipper and/or buttons and is worn open. Quarter and ½ zip shirts are treated as pullovers and are not permitted. 
 
- Laurel High School / Spartan Attire may be worn in place of the white Polo Shirt on Fridays ONLY
 
 
Shoes
- Shoes must be fully enclosed.  
 
- No Flip Flops, Sandals, Slippers and/or Open Toe shoes.   
 
Pants, Shorts, Skirts and Skorts
Pants
- Khaki (Neutral/Tan)  colored chinos or dress pants 
 
- Cannot fall below the waist, be baggy or sag, and may not contain designer insignia, characters, names or numbers of any size 
 
- No form fitting/spandex, flared, cut/torn pants
 
- NO jeans
 
- NO leggings
 
Skirts, Shorts and Skorts
- Khaki (Neutral/Tan) colored.
 
- Must hit the leg at the knee
 
Special Rules for Athletics and Technical Academies
Team jerseys with  uniform pants (khaki) may  be worn by athletes on game days only – Athletes who play on Saturday may wear their team jersey on Friday.   
Rules for Field Trips
- Students must be in uniform, including wearing their ID, when attending a field trip. Exceptions may be made by the principal.
 
- Students not in uniform and/or not wearing their PERMANENT ID will not be permitted to attend field trips. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED!
