Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year! A message from Dr. Grant, Principal…

Dear Mustang Community,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I hope that you and your family are enjoying a safe and restful summer. This year marks a new chapter for James Ryder Randall Elementary School — one full of promise, purpose, and progress.

Our schoolwide theme is "Randall Rising: Reaching New Heights." Together, we will continue building momentum and pushing ourselves to rise academically, socially, and emotionally. The entire Mustang community, scholars, families, and staff, play a vital role in making this possible.

I’m happy to introduce our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Mosley, who brings a strong background in mathematics instruction and a deep commitment to supporting high-quality teaching and learning. She is excited to join our school community and looks forward to working alongside teachers and the school community to help all scholars rise.

Our three key focus areas for the 2025–2026 school year are:

  1. Strengthening Writing Across All Grade Levels

  2. Using iReady and Targeted Interventions to Close Gaps

  3. Maximizing Small Group Instruction for Scholar Growth

We believe that a strong home-to-school connection is the key to scholar success. Here are a few important ways to support your scholar’s academic journey:

  • Prioritize daily attendance and limit tardiness
  • Keep track of the days your scholar is absent from school
  • Check Synergy Parent Portal weekly to monitor grades
  • Download and check the ClassDojo app daily for school communication
  • Stay in touch with your scholar’s teacher regularly
  • Read with your scholar for at least 20 minutes a day
  • Use iReady and other learning tools consistently at home

We are excited to rise together this school year. We truly value your support, and we’re here to partner with you every step of the way. Please continue to check ClassDojo for school updates. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me directly at jessica.grant@pgcps.org.

Let’s make this a year to rise — together!
