It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year at Colin Powell Academy! As we prepare for an amazing year ahead, we are proud to center our journey around the theme: “Defining Our Destination.”
This year, our teachers will serve as captains, guiding each student through the skies of knowledge with passion, purpose, and powerful instruction. Our students are not just passengers—they are co-pilots, taking ownership of their learning, navigating challenges, and understanding their progress through data-driven focus groups and intentional refl ection. Together, we are charting a course toward academic excellence, personal growth, and meaningful achievement.
We’re also excited to take learning beyond the classroom walls! With field trips that explore the rich culture and history of the DMV, and assemblies that celebrate the vibrant diversity of our nation, we will expand our horizons and deepen our understanding of the world around us.
This year, Colin Powell Academy continues to shine as a STEAM-focused school, with dynamic programs in dance, music, media, and STEM. From coding to choreography, our students will have the opportunity to create, innovate, and express themselves in bold, meaningful ways.
