Backpacks
PGCPS has mandated all middle school students carry a clear backpack. On the first day of school, we will provide each student with one new, clear backpack and a few school supplies.
General Supplies (To Bring to School)
- 🎒 Clear backpack (no wheels, must fit in locker)
Note: The school will provide each student with their first clear bookbag. Students may use their own if they prefer, as long as it meets size and safety guidelines. - 📅 Agenda book – will be provided by the school
- 💻 PGCPS Chromebook – Each student will be issued a Chromebook by the school
- 📒 5 composition notebooks (wide or college-ruled)
- 📘 3 spiral notebooks
- 📁 5 two-pocket folders
- 📓 1 binder (2-inch, for organization or ELA/Social Studies)
- 📑 Loose-leaf notebook paper (2 packs)
- ✏ Pencils (2–3 packs, #2 or mechanical)
- 🖊 Pens (blue or black, and red for editing)
- 📏 Ruler (inch/cm)
- 🧼 Pencil pouch (to keep supplies organized) Math Tools
- 📐 Protractor and compass (for Geometry topics)
- 🧮 Basic calculator (6th grade)
- 🧠 Scientific calculator (7th and 8th grade) Items to Be Kept at Home
- ✂ Scissors
- 📎 Glue sticks
- 🎧 Wired earbuds or headphones (to use with Chromebook at home if needed)
NOTE: Specialty items may be added later, based on the needs of individual classes.
