Arts Integration

Arts Integration in PGCPS is an educational approach that weaves the arts into core academic subjects, allowing students to explore and understand concepts through creative expression. This method fosters deeper learning by engaging multiple intelligences and providing diverse pathways to knowledge. Through arts integration, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity while gaining a richer appreciation for the arts and academic content. It encourages hands-on, experiential learning that makes connections across disciplines, ultimately enhancing student engagement and academic achievement.

Goals of the Initiative

  • Provide alternative, creative, and engaging instructional strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Provide opportunities for student social/emotional growth
  • Improve student achievement, behavior, and engagement
  • Support classroom environments that are student-centered and encourage creative expression
  • Enhance student creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills

Professional Learning Opportunities in Arts Integration can be found in the Quarterly Professional Learning Catalog.
