Dr. Kenneth Barrie is a dynamic, ethical, and student-centered educational leader with over 25 years of experience spanning K–12 instruction and school administration in international, urban, and suburban contexts. Currently serving as Lead Learner at Maya Angelou French Immersion School, he is deeply committed to educational equity, instructional excellence, and cultivating a culture of continuous growth.
With nine years in school leadership and 16 years as a classroom educator, Dr. Barrie has consistently driven measurable gains in student achievement across a range of academic indicators, including the Maryland High School Biology Assessment, AP and IB Chemistry, Middle School PARCC assessments, and the PSAT 8/9. His leadership extends into higher education, having served as a methods instructor for the PGCPS Resident Teacher Program and as an adjunct professor at Bowie State University, where he encouraged and mentored the next generation of educators.
Dr. Barrie brings a unique cross-sector perspective to school leadership, drawing on earlier careers in hospitality management and sales and marketing.
