6th Grade
Mr. Salim King proudly serves as the 6th Grade Assistant Principal at Ernest E. Just Middle School, bringing with him nearly two decades of dedication to public education and a deep commitment to student and teacher success.
A proud graduate of Howard University, Mr. King holds a Bachelor of Arts in Afro-American Studies and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, credentials that reflect both his diverse skill set and his passion for supporting the whole child.
Throughout his career in Prince George’s County Public Schools, Mr. King has worn many hats—as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and school administrator—serving at several schools including Thomas G. Pullen Creative and Performing Arts School, Samuel Ogle Middle School, and Berwyn Heights Elementary. Across each role, his mission has remained consistent: to create safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environments where both students and educators can thrive.
Mr. King is especially passionate about student engagement, collaborative leadership, and building strong, respectful relationships with families and staff. He believes that when schools nurture both academic excellence and emotional well-being, students are empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Outside of school, Mr. King enjoys expressing his creativity through photography, staying active with swimming and golf, and spending time with his family. His well-rounded interests and energetic spirit help him stay connected with students, staff, and the larger school community.
He is excited to be a part of the Ernest Just family and looks forward to an amazing school year filled with growth, joy, and success.
