Description:
Advanced Financial Literacy is a .5 credit elective course for juniors and/or seniors who have completed the prerequisite graduation requirement Financial Literacy for Teens. Students learn how to confidently navigate everyday life - and its unexpected turns - by participating in simulation activities that mimic real-world financial decisions adults must navigate after high school. Topics include: creating a budget and financial plan for independence (housing, transportation, utilities, meals, etc.), managing debt and establishing credit, overcoming financial setbacks, building wealth, and retirement planning.
