Aimee Olivo Biography

Aimee Olivo is a passionate community builder and advocate for equity and social justice. She and her spouse, Abel, are deeply committed to public schools. Their sons have attended Prince George's County Public Schools from the Infants & Toddlers program through high school, covering eight PGCPS schools.

Aimee has held numerous volunteer leadership roles advocating for educational equity and student success. She began volunteering with PGCPS when her oldest child was a toddler, served as a founding member of Cheverly Advocates for Public Schools, and has been a PTA member or officer at each of her children's schools.

In 2010, Aimee was appointed by Governor Martin O'Malley to serve on the Board of Trustees for Prince George's Community College; she continued in that role through February 2022. During her tenure, Aimee was elected vice chair and chair. She served as a member and chair of the Prince George's County Commission for Education Excellence under County Executive Rushern Baker.

Throughout her career Aimee has worked to support progressive causes and candidates, fight for equity in education, promote economic development, improve the environment, and promote community. Aimee served as Chief of Staff to former-Prince Geoge's County Council Member Dannielle Glaros from 2014-2022. She is currently the executive director of a nonprofit arts organization providing free and low cost art experiences to thousands of Prince Georgians annually.

In 2012, Aimee was recognized by the Prince George's County Social Innovation Fund as a member of their inaugural “Prince George's 40 Under Forty” cohort. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Trinity College (now Trinity Washington University), in Washington, D.C., with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and earned her Master's in Business Administration from Marymount University in Arlington, VA.
