What is the Ethics Panel?
Ethics Advisory Panel, an independent body that advises the Board on matters related to its ethics policy. The panel, established under Board Policy 0107, plays a key role in interpreting the Board’s ethics guidelines, issuing advisory opinions, and reviewing complaints alleging ethics violations. Members are appointed by the Board Chair and confirmed by the full Board for a three-year term.

Qualifications of eligible candidates
- Must be willing to volunteer their services.
- Must not be a current member of the Board of Education or an employee of Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS)
- Must not be an elected official or candidate for elective office
- Must not be employed by a business that contracts with PGCPS
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Application Process
- Interested candidates are required to submit the following information:
a letter of interest
- a résumé or supporting documentation
- All recommended applicants are subject to fingerprinting and a criminal background check before final appointment.
